After a little more than 2 months of knitting after drooling over the yarn I've been dying to knit since the arrival of Rowan's British Sheep Breeds Chunky last summer, my OWLS sweater is done, dry, and ready to wear. In fact, I'm wearing it for the second time today. It's snowing - yes, snow on April 19th - so I am getting some use out of it before stashing it away until fall. Pattern: O W L S by Kate Davies
Yarn: British Sheep Breeds Chunky by Rowan in 952 Mid Brown Jacob
Raveled: OWLS
Isn't he cute? It was fun to put the eyes on to show off the owl in the cable design.I didn't want to show them off too much, so I went with just one owl. Yes, I admit that this decision might have had something to do with the tedious task of sewing on 487 button eyes. Well, I'm exaggerating a bit - it would have been 34, but still...
I really enjoyed this project and the pattern was a blast to knit! I love Kate Davies pattern writing style and the yarn, oh my! When this yarn arrived at the shop last summer, I immediately sent a text to a knitting and spinning friend to tell her she had to come down immediately to "smell" the yarn. It smells of the fabulous sheep that used to own this wool!
So, now I only have 1 sweater on the needles - Grace and she's simply lovely. I do have yarn in a project bag that was just swatched for a new sweater so I'll share that soon.
Maybe next time I'll show you just exactly what's in my project bag these days? Although it's bound to be a wee bit embarrassing for me, it might be fun for you. So, we'll see...
Cheers!
